Description

I love workrave and used it on XP but just got a Win 7 machine and workrave keeps auto setting itself into suspended mode every few min.

Same problem as reported. Makes workrave essentially unusable.

What seems to be going on is that when my workstation goes in sleep mode so does WorkRave, but when the workstation wakes up, Workrave does not :(

Could you please install the following debug build of workrave:

http://snapshots.workrave.org/20110216/workrave-win32-v1_9_3-54-g82aa5dce5c-20110216-debug-installer.exe

and when the problem occurs, take the "workrave-<date>" log file from the c:\temp directory and attach it to this bug. This will make debugging much easier for me.

The log files can become quite large. Please install a non-debug build after testing, e.g.:

http://snapshots.workrave.org/20110216/workrave-win32-v1_9_3-54-g82aa5dce5c-20110216-installer.exe

Thanks!

I installed the debug version and the problem is not manifesting itself so far. Coincidence or is writing the log file preventing the problem? Wish there was a way to tell it Where to log and I'd just use this version normally and set something up to delete the log daily..... C:\temp is on my SSD and I'd hate to shorten it's useful life by leaving the tracking on C

You could install the latest non-debug version and check if the problem is also resolved in this version:

http://snapshots.workrave.org/20110217/workrave-win32-v1_9_3-58-g92d67aa1ce-20110217-installer.exe

If the problem is not resolved, I will move the logging for you :-)

Thanks!

I found that if I keep my latop from going into sleep mode workrave stays on. Once it goes into sleep mode then workrave goes into suspend mode - once I tuned my laptops SLEEP MODE off workrave worked fine - I am on Windows 7

Please try:

http://snapshots.workrave.org/20110217/workrave-win32-v1_9_3-58-g92d67aa1ce-20110217-installer.exe

and check if that fixes the suspend problem. Thanks!

Would it be possible to release this fix? It's pretty annoying to deal with (note there's at least two duplicates, bug 1004 and bug 1005).

Yes that's possible :-)

This problem should be fixed in 1.9.4. You can download it from:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/workrave/files/workrave/1.9.4/workrave-win32-v1.9.4-installer.exe/download

Please reopen this issue if you still see the problem in 1.9.4

Thanks.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. We will install 1.9.4 and report back if it still fails. We were also seeing some other issues, I'll check if those are still in there and try to report a coherent bug if at all possible.
