Hi,

When I temporarily change the Mode from Normal to Suspended or Quiet and forget to turn it back at the end of the day, the next day after rebooting the PC Workrave still is in the very same mode as where it was left in.

This means that although it is auto-started you don't get any warning to take a micro or rest break. For me this means that I only detect it when you already feel the effects of working without pause for too long.

To prevent people from coming into that forgotten mode, a new day should mean that Workrave resets to normal mode by default: at least after booting, but maybe even after e.g. 3 hours of inactivity.
You could consider an opt-out from that standard mode reset, for people who want to use Workrave for just some monitoring functionality via quiet mode. But by default protect people as that is what Workrave is installed for!

I entered this as an enhancement request, as I don't know whether maybe an other OS/Hardware/Version *does* reset the mode after reboot. For now I assume that mode resetting is not meant to be happening.
If my assumption is wrong and on other OS/Hardware/Version mode resetting *is* working, then Severity -> Normal, Hardware -> PC, OS -> Windows 7.

Kind regards,
Walter.

Your assumption is correct. Workrave persistently stores the current operation mode and restores it at startup.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and when restarting after hibernation the mode is set to Suspended.
Would it not be sensible for the mode to be restored to what it was before hibernation ?

Hi,
I would suggest to make a stand alone ticket of this problem, as one ticket should deal one problem. Reason?... If a change is implemented and the reported bug from the title is solved, the ticket shall be closed, hence losing your problem.
A separate ticket also guarantees tracebility!

Kind regards,
Walter.

Hi,

I'm now running Workrave v1.9.4 and my OS changed to Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit) with Service Pack 1. Now when booting my PC after it was shutdown with Workrave being in Suspended mode, I get an info balloon from the Workrave icon in the system tray warning me that it is in Suspended mode!

That's already a quite nice work around. Only if it starts up while I'm doing something else and hence mis the balloon, for that situation such a work around isn't enough.
But so far it is enhanced!

Regards,
Walter.
