Workrave fails to start with the error "the procedure entry point ___lc_codepage_func could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll. Using v6.1.9844 of this dll in Win 2k.

This appears to be an issue in the compiler suite workrave is using (MinGW). I will check if newer versions of MinGW solve the problem.
