Right now, the sheep icon looks mandatory for the applet. It adds to the clutter in the notification area. It would be very useful to be able to disable this icon by default, especially for netbook users. Instead of the sheep being striked through, the timer could be. Or the timer could be grayed out when disabled.

The tray icon can now be disabled in the preferences. The operation mode is not made visible in the timers. The timers are already quite complex (showing idle and active time in two overlapping bars with multiple colors). Adding the operation mode would be too much I think. Feel free to come up with a UI mock-up.
