Description
Oasis Feng  Nov 12 2008 04:28:36 UTC
Rest Prompting Window does not disappear if I stop operating my PC near the end of prompt count down.

For example, when "You need a rest break..." prompt shown up, I kept typing my email, until near the end of the prompt count down, like "Disappers in 0:03". Then, I stopped acting, and wait for a rest exercise, but the after the count down reached "Disappears in 0:00", I could neither disappear, nor start rest exercise, but kept flashing for ever, unless I touch my mouse or keyboard to force it to disappear.

As I remembered, in last version, this prompt will disappear and start the excercise in a few seconds in the situation I mentioned above.

Confirmed on Vista.

Hmm.. 2012.
The problem still exists!
I do not dare to hope that this is going to be re-solved ..?

I can confirm this on Workrave 1.10 under Windows 7 x64 SP1. It appears that the prompt countdown requires inactivity for a period of time (~5 seconds) before it will transition to the exercise prompt. If you don't stop being active at least 5 seconds before the countdown ends, it effectively runs out of time to wait for the inactivity. It would be helpful if it allowed continue inactivity after the 0 second point is reached to trigger the exercise (or even better if there was a button one could click to go straight to the exercise window).

I'll look again, thanks.

Regrettably I haven't been able to or have had the time to solve this issue. I will relinquish my assignment on this bug.

This problem also exists in version 1.10.6.0 for Linux (Ubuntu 15.10, 64 bit).

For me the problem is most prominent with the micro-break prompt, since it pops up more frequent than the rest-break one, and I tend to want to finish the sentence I was writing.

Addendum: For me, the pop-up only disappears when using the keyboard. Using the mouse does not change anything. The pop-up behaves "normally" in the sense that it moves when I hover my mouse over it. So it seems that other mechanisms still work and only the "disappear" mechanism is broken.

Previous patch was breaking reading mode. This new patch should be better.
