Understandably when you lock the screen during your break and try to come back you screen saver will not die until the break is over.  When set to not allow keyboard or mouse response.  Could you make it so the screen saver will die even when there is supposed to be no keyboard or mouse response?  Just would like to see how much time is left.

I have this same behavior, and this means that I need to manually time my work breaks, since there is no way for me to check how much time I have left if I leave my desk (and thus lock my workstation) during a break. It also makes it impossible (without logging in remotely and killing workrave) to postpone a break at that point if it is needed.
