I've noticed when programming I tend to twist my fingers around to use the right hand shift key when I enter (){}+?, etc. An audible or visual alert from workrave when I perform one of these unhealthy keystrokes would really help me unlearn this bad habit.

I second this suggestion.

Firstly, I wish there is a "use modifier with the other hand" feature that forces or encourages the user to use both hands when pressing any such chords, be it shift, alt, ctrl or the mac equivalents. I suspect that this feature may need quite a bit of customizability because of at least two reasons. (i) There are a number of keyboard layouts and the split keyboards may put keys on the non-traditional side. For example, on a Kinesis keyboard, the = key is actually on the left hand side when it is right on most other boards. (ii) The keys in the middle of a non-split keyboard may be typed with both hands. For example, I know colleagues typing 6 with their left hands.

A second and related suggestion to have a "pace alert" when the number of keystrokes per second is higher than a user-customizable threshold. I am learning to slow down my typing and it would be great help to me.
