Hello,

I would like to request for an option to count rest breaks as activity.

Bug #506, titled "regard rests as activity for daily limit", made a similar request, referring to German labor laws.

This bug was marked "resolved" after a developer told the person to disable the "suspend timer when inactive" option.

For me, this does not resolve the problem:

I use WorkRave both for anti-RSI purposes and to count my total working day. I telecommute, and have agreed to work for 5 hours every day.

A "rest break" should be counted as working time - a part of my normal working day.

However, if I just leave my computer and go do something else (such as an early lunch, go out of the house for a while, etc), this should not be counted as "working time" of course.

So I want to enjoy the automatic time-accounting benefits of "suspend timer when inactive", yet be able _not_ to suspend it while on a pre-sent work break.

Can this be done?

Personally, I feel that Workrave is an anti-RSI tool; not a tool to count the number of daily working hours.

As to whether it is possible: Workrave can't possibly know if you are actually working or not unless you explicitly indicate what you are doing. Otherwise, Workrave does't know if you going for lunch during a break (time is not counted for daily limit), or having a meeting during a break (time is counted for daily limit).

Perhaps we could link workrave's activity monitors with a time tracking tool.
