Hi. I'm a fan of Workrave and I'd like to get it running on my new Vista machine, but i't doesn't want to play, it crashes on startup, even straight after a clean re-install. Can't find any other references to this sort of behaviour so I assume its a new bug.

Further info:

uninstalled, cleared all references to 'workrave' from the registry and reinstalled. Now happy. Have adjusted timers to suit my preference but have NOT
restarted networking, so I assume networking may be the issue. Will investigate further when I can.

It seems that Workrave crashes immediate after startup. Even before reading its configuration and initializing everything (including networking). Last time I saw a similar crash, it was caused by a corrupt language files (a .mo file). Though this seems unlikely if you reinstalled everything.

I had this crash as well, windows 7-64 machine. workrave 1.9.4 


workrave kept crashing immediatly at startup, even after reinstalling. The problem was solved after I removed the Workrave/network key in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Workrave)

I did not alter any of the other keys in the registry.

The network feature already gave crashes before, although this did not happen immediatly at startup. It usually happened after I lost internet connection with one of the systems involved in the network communication. I suppose that these problems are related.

I am nog a true software engineering, so I cannot give you the specific data, but I hope this information helps.
