When using the computer for a while (and running Workrave) the "shift" key appears to become sticky (text shows up in uppercase, text gets selected instead of scrolling through it, etc) It takes a lot of effort to fix it. I tried pressing the shift key several times, replacing the keyboard, locking the screen (using ctrl-alt-del) but none of this resolves the problem. Sometimes it just goes away by itself.

Alternatively, shutting down Workrave fixes the problem.

When does the shift key become sticky? Immediately after a break? Or during normal operation?

Recent nightly builds use a different way of monitoring the keyboard. This may also fix your problem.

The shift key becomes sticky during normal work, e.g. when typing emails or editing document. It is basically independent of the application used. 

I installed this morning the nightly build from last night (being workrave-win32-20080402-installer.exe) and so far I did not have any problems yet. I'll let you know if by end of tomorrow everything is still working ok.

Unfortunately the latest build also causes the same problems. Shutting down Workrave and after that pressing the shift key once immediately fixes the problem. What else can I do to help you resolve this problem ? Is it my system ? On my previous laptop I never had this problem.

Could you try to set 'Block mode' (preferences -> user interface -> general') to 'No blocking'?

My current settings already are set for "no blocking".

Other options that are set :

- Show postpone and skip button
- Suspend time when inactive
- Prompt before breaking
- Place all timers in one spot
- No sounds
- Language : System default
