Description
James Sapara  Apr 11 2007 19:31:55 UTC
I'm using vmware-server 1.0.2 build-39867 to run windows xp. When inside the vmware console using windows xp, keyboard activity does not get passed to workrave. Resulting in it resting the timers due to idle time.

My system is running ubuntu 6.10. I noticed there was an extension some people loaded into XFree "record" that removed the need for dirty keyboard activity detection. I've add that module to XOrg config with no success.

Seems to work fine with vmware player 1.0.2 build 29634.

Did you install vmware tools on XP? This allows you to move the mouse pointer outside the vmware window without pressing ctrl-alt? Perhaps this is required for X (and Workrave) to see mouse/keyboard events.

I'm closing this bug because I've never been able to reproduce it, many things have changed since 2007 (newer versions of Ubuntu, X, vmware, and Workrave), and no response was received to my question below.

Please reopen if you can still reproduce this bug with a more recent version of Workrave. thanks.
