Description

I turned off the "Show postpone and skip button" option to force myself to go away from the computer when the break set off... but when it does, the clock (started at 2:00) stopped counting down at 1:58 or 1:57. I waited for like 15 minutes and nothing changed. Since I turned off the "postpone and skip button", the only thing I could do was to lock/log off and then restart my computer.

This happened twice, once when I was playing a real player movie, the other when I was copying a bunch of things. Not sure if they are related. 2 freezes happened in 3 days so I guess it should be pretty easy to reproduce.

I haven't seen this happened while I had the option on though.

This is on XP pro.

I'm seeing similar behavior on occasion. Does the window have an orange flashing bar? That would mean that workrave thinks you are still active. I'm not sure what causes it (workrave missing some mouse-up event or something), but clicking the break window a few times and/or tapping a few buttons (alt, shift and control sometimes seem to get stuck in the "down" state) usually resolves it for me.

Note: After finishing the clicking and key-pressing, you should wait for another five seconds before the orange bar will disappear and the counter will resume.

On Vista Business Edition:
I am running a Workrave nightly, released 20070404, and I am having a similar problem. If I attempt to use the mouse or the keyboard before the break is over, the rest break window will flash with an orange border and then the timer will freeze. It stays frozen. I can click 'skip' to get around it.

Just a follow-up...

-I forgot to mention that I have 2 screens (on 1 graphics card). Not sure if this is related.

-Whether postpone and skip button are shown or not doesn't change the occurence of this bug (like what Ray Satiro wrote). Only that you can get out of it without reboot.

-clicking windows/tapping keys doesn't help. If I move the cursor inside one of the 2 WorkRave windows (one in each of my screens) and then move it out, then the orange border would flash 6 times.

-Right-click sort of works on some things. The Windows Task Manager also responds to some of the things I do. (I can elaborate more if needed, but once you get into that state, everything is reproducible 100%). I still can't get out of this state though.

I really hope this bug to get fixed because right now whenever I see the WorkRave window I am clicking the skip button reflexively without any thinking...

Hi, I haven't had this problem since installing a recent nightly.

I installed the nightly from Apr 24. Actually it's pretty easy to repro (I have the skip/postpone buttons shown). All you need to do is to...

1) wait till it fires
2) move your mouse around the workrave window so that the orange border appears
2a) or optionally, click inside the window on the non-clickable region (not the buttons)

-> the counter stops. It will continue to show the exercises and so on. It just wouldn't go away.

I don't remember if it was like this in the official 1.8.4 release though.

Hi, I looked at the source but I don't see the problem. Maybe the window message monitor, harpoon, is missing some sort of key event. I no longer have the problem, and I did last month.

I am still using a nightly from the beginning of April. If I right-click > rest break and then click around, the timer will freeze briefly during activity and then continue, as it's supposed to.

The activity state can be ignored during a timer countdown. I haven't tried this, but you can edit the source and make it so that even if you click around the activity state is ignored and the timer will continue to countdown.
