In version 1.8.4., the status stays disabled, no matter how many times I tried to change it.

I noticed that on Windows version, you have to make tray icon's mode menu selections using right mouse button. If you use left button, mode changes are ignored.

This is a duplicate of 598. Either
- install nightly build
- open mainwindow and change mode there
- (as explained in comment #1:) right click on tray icon, then right click on Mode menu, then right click on 'normal'. If you don't right click on the Mode menu (but wait for the menu to appear without clicking, or click left), it submenu won't work....
