(this is for version 1.8.3, bugzilla version box only goes to 1.8.2)

i downloaded and ran workrave for the first time, and found parts of it annoying. here is a list of simple UI improvements that i think should be made.

the first thing i checked out was the workrave preferences window. i see the option for "enable networking"... cool! but nowhere in that section does in give any clues as to how that affects the program. does it warn other computers? do other computers warn me? both? none?

you should put some overview of the networking feature in the "general" tab of the networking preferences.

second thing... "Time for a micro break?" this dialog box drove me crazy -- because it appeared to be asking a question. i tried to answer "yes" by pressing enter. then space. then by left and right clicking on it. but the window started blinking urgently, so i tried hitting escape and ctrl-c (to no avail). GAAAAAH! (then, ironically, it changed and told me to relax). it took me a few times to realize that the "Time for a micro break?" really just means "stop typing".

you should change the text in that window to "Time for a micro break." -- its a statement, not a question. then underneath it, write "Please stop typing" or some other useful instruction.

third thing: the "Rest break" dialog. this one suffers from poorly labeled buttons. there are 2 "X" buttons on the exercise player. what does each one do? there aren't even tooltips to help me figure it out. also, the "lock" button is pretty ambiguous.

you should add descriptive tooltips to the graphical buttons on the "rest break" dialog, and change "Lock" to "Lock Screen".

other than that, your software is great! i look forward to your next release!
