Hi,

I looked through the workrave.org website but I couldn't find any information about the different modes: normal, suspended, and quiet.  

What do they do?

If workrave is set to 'suspended' it stops monitoring your keyboard/mouse activity. If set to 'quiet', Workrave will monitor you keyboard/mouse activity, but will not prompt you to take breaks (until you switch back to normal).
