Description

Running wr 1.8.1, if I RDP to my XP box wr continues to work fine. When I log back in to the console, wr sounds no longer play, though the rest of the software appears to be fine.

After further observation I have found that sound will sometimes go away when an RDP session is started, as well.

Do you run RDP and Workrave on Linux? (The bug in filed for XP, but you say that you RDP to XP. I assume you go from Linux to XP). If so, it could be that RDP opens /dev/dsp directly. As a result esound (and thus Workraver) can no longer play sounds. Do other application still produce sound? Can you still play WAVs using esdplay?

It's all XP. I run workrave on my XP box at work, and I am connecting to it via RDP when working from home, which in this case is also an XP box. Sometimes it works all day from remote, but when I go into the office it has no sound. Other times it's working fine when I leave the office, but once I RDP in from home the sound is gone and it continues to be silent until I restart it, regardless of my location.
