Description

Hi,

I'm using Windows XP. Some times the micro-break timer get negative and keep
counting backwards (like -2:00, -2:01, -2:02...). I don't know why or when it
happens but that's bad because it stops informing me about the micro-breks.

This usually happens when you ignore a break. For example, if you are working,
the micropause timer counts down. When it reaches zero, you are asked to take a
break. When you don't, the timer keeps on counting down (hence it gets negative).

Could you please open the preferences window, take a look a the "micro pause"
tab, and not the "postpone time" (it's the third timer value from the top). When
the timer ever gets negative, that's the time at which you should be told to
take a break. I.e. my postpone time is 2:30. So whenever the micropause timer
reaches a multiple of -2:30 (i.e. 2:30, 5:00, 7:30 and so on) I get told to take
a break.

So, if you, too, get warnings whenever you reach your (negative) postpone time,
then you're observing correct behaviour. Otherwise, this is indeed a bug. Could
you please double check?

Thanks!

Thanks for the very fast answer!

But, no, it's not because of a postponed micro-break!
Actually, I've never had postponed a micro-break!
Right now my workrave counts -32:07 and there's a lot of time it doesn't alert
me to break. My postpone time for micro-breaks is 2:30min.
BTW, after the last rest break I haven't had any other micro-break. Maybe this
can be a clue.
Hum, my workrave counts now -35:30 and no micro-break...

That's how workrave in configured here:
MICRO-BREAK: Time between breaks: 10mins
             Break duration: 30s
             Postpone time: 2:30min
             Suspend timer when inactive: unchecked
REST BREAK: Time between breaks: 1:30h
             Break duration: 10min
             Postpone time: 3min
             Suspend timer when inactive: unchecked
DAILY LIMIT: Time before end: 4h
             Postpone time: 20min

Right now, -41:35 and yet no micro-break...

Hum, the micro-break timer kept counting backwards, though negative, and
without alerting me utill the rest break. So, the micro-break timer went
negative till -1:30h. After the rest break, it restarted and is now all right,
till the problem happens again...
I'll pay attention to see if I can detect when it happens...
