This is, presumably, not a Workrave bug but rather a bug in my Gnome installation. Still, I'm submitting it because it's probably worth knowing about... I'm running Debian "testing" on my laptop, but have the Gnome packages installed from "unstable." This is not a recommended configuration, I know, but as far as I can tell, everything I use works fine, except for Workrave's applet feature. There are no error message, but the applet doesn't show up in my menu panel (the only panel I have). I'm a new Debian user (though a longtime Linux user), so I'm not sure what the most useful information to send along with this bug is. And feel free to ignore it as off-topic! Thanks for the great piece of software!

Mmm, sorry to be so dense. After posting the bug (of course, after) I found the Workrave mailing list and started reading the archives. I now understand that you actually have to add either the "notification area" applet to the panel or select the workrave applet itself from the "add to panel" menu. If I'm not mistaken, on all my other machines the applet just appeared in my main panel the first time I checked the "applet enabled" box (and I don't use the "notification area.") But in any case, I apologize for posting a spurious bug report.
