Description

Hi there,

I like Workrave with one exception. I dont like the 'big' block it takes up.
My suggestion is to be able to have all 3 timers next to each other, lined up
horizontally instead of vertically. This way I could put it at the top of my
screen with 'always on top' enabled and it wouldn't interfere with anything.

Maybe an option could be put in the UI menu to stack vertically or horizontally?

Thanks,

Scott Russ

I can sympathise with this problem. My screen is too small too (even in a dual
head configuration :-).

However, a horizontal layout does not seem to solve that problem. In fact, it
would overall take up more space, because the titlebar would be larger.

I would be in favour of integrating the window into the taskbar, like is done on
linux.

In the mean time, you can reduce the size of the window by stacking the timers
on top of eachother (see preferences -> ui -> status window)

An easy small win is to change the Workrave status window into a toolbar window
(small window bar), just like Miranda is, or any good behaving Windows
applet-like application should be.

This would, however, revert bug 100, and m-m (or m-d) would no longer hide the
window (bug 89?). But that would be consistent with applet-like application
behaviour.

Current CVS offers a Workrave applet that integrates the timers into the Windows
taskbar. On UNIX this functionality was already present. The usage of the
taskbar/panel offer vertical/horizontal layout of timers, and results in minimal
loss of screen realestate. Making the states window support horizontal layouts
would not really improve the situation much (compared to the applet variants),
so we will not implement this.

Please give the applet a try and give us feedback.
