Yes... Unfortunately, there is no gtk2.0 for OS X as far as I know. So porting is not trivial.

I agree with you that an OS X version would be nice. Chances are unlikely this will happen any time soon unless some other volunteer steps up. Having this bug listed here doesn't really help, marking invalid...
