I just saw the applet, looks real cool. The UI makes me wonder...: A tool tip says "Three positions are available", yet four (0-3) numbers can be chosen? Should that be 1 to 3? Or in case of 4 positions, 1-4 ?

Should 1 to 3.

I fixed the 0..3 but the bug's summary suggest there are not problems...

Did you mean "more" problems? Well, I would prefer to see the position:1-2-3 replaced by a drop-down, showing the following options: Hidden First Middle Last I'll have a look...

Summary says "Pause configuration UI is not really user friendly", your description only mention the 0..3 bug. I agree about the first/middle/last

After looking at all the options I have come to the conclusion that the applet panel really suffers from extreme configuration sickness. A bit more KISS would do wonders here. Most options should really be thrown away. IMHO, the following would be sufficient: - the user selects the timers to be included in the panel (3 checkboxes) - the user selects the display method: alternating, or all visible (1 dropdown) For all other options good defaults should be possible. E.g. for "show only if imminent in x secs", x should be not configurable but rather be fixed at 10% (or something like that) of the "Time before break" time.

I agree that the applet configuration UI is too complicated. Still, I think you proposal is too minimal. I'm displaying 2 timers. On the left the micropause, on the right the restbreak and daily limit. When the daily limit is not immiment, only the restbreak is shown. Otherwise, restbreak and daily limit are shown alternatingly. Some ideas: - Define what timers are visible of each position instead of the position for each timer. - put "only first due" and "only when immiment" in combo or remove one of them. Selecting both is not useful. - use default time for "only when immiment" - remove "default timer" - For each timer a combo with:

Now what? - For each timer a combo with: - "Show alternatingly with other timers" - "Alternate when immiment" - "Alternate when first due" - "Show exclusively when immiment" - "Show exclusively when first due"

Summarizing some non-bugzilla discussion, we ended up with (I think) the following: Per timer... ...1 dropdown: - Hide - Show - Show only when first due ...1 checkbox: - Allow shared placement. Right?

2nd attempt! One timer independent drop down, "Timer placement": - Show all selected timers - Alternate MP/RB - Alternate RB/DL - Alternate all Per timer dropdown: - Hide - Show - Show only when first due

Ik vind het goed. Als je volledig wilt zijn zou je nog alternate MP/DL kunnen toevoegen, al heb ik daarvoor zo gauw geen zinvolle toepassing
