Description
tr**@ya**.com Feb 6 2014 08:01:37 UTC
Call me weird, but I have grown a habit of clicking Micro-breaks away by clicking on the "Rest Break" button end can end up postponing the break entirely after I click on "Postpone" in the Rest break popup, even if I've already hidden the "Postpone" and "Skip" buttons for both Micro-break and Rest break. May I request an option to be able to hide this button as well? Just so I can ban myself from postponing my Micro-breaks? Right now my only workaround is to disable Micro-breaks entirely, but it's a bit crippling now that I only have one variant of timer all the time. Hoping for your consideration, thanks. :) *Might be related to bug id http://issues.workrave.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389 and http://issues.workrave.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390

(In reply to trelagz from comment #0) > Call me weird, but I have grown a habit of clicking Micro-breaks away by > clicking on the "Rest Break" button end can end up postponing the break > entirely after I click on "Postpone" in the Rest break popup If you open the preferences window, "micro-break" tab, you should notice that behind the "Maximum number of prompts" checkbox, there is a value of 2 or greater. If you reduce this to 1, you pretty much get the behaviour you desire. Normally, when it is time to take a break, the prelude window appears. If you continue working, either the prelude window disappears, or you are forced to take a break. This behaviour is governed by the "maximum number of prompts" value. I believe the default is 3. This would mean that the first 2 preludes will disappear, and the third one will force you to take a break. There is a bug in here. I think it is reasonable that this value affects what happens if you postpone a restbreak. If you postpone a restbreak quickly (i.e. before having taken the microbreak), I would expect a microbreak window to appear, if you have reached the maximum number of prompts (i.e. it is your third one). If the Maximum number of prompts value would have allowed you to ignore the prelude, then no micro break should appear. Instead, somehow, the micro-break window appears never, regardless of how many prompts you've had. But still, if you specify only 1 prompt, then it will be impossible to postpone you microbreak.

I've never used the prompt feature though, since I think it's a bit distracting. Are there other possible workarounds?

I was just about to make the same request. Just like trelagz I escape from the microbreaks with "Rest break"+"Postpone." The solution mentioned is not intuitive. So I +1 this request.

I have the same habit. I think it would be better do not show "Postpone" button in the Rest Break popup.
