I'd like to have the option to disable the ability to turn on quiet mode (at the very least, remove it from the context menu). I've gotten in a bad habit of turning it on when I'm prompted to take a break, and leaving it off. This makes the program rather useless.

William, I have a similar problem (turning it quiet for a meeting, then forgetting about it for months). I've proposed that Workrave (optionally) always starts in Normal mode - see http://issues.workrave.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1138

On the same ticket, I've posted a workaround (for Ubuntu and other GNU/Linux systems). It's a command that sets Workrave to Normal mode every time I log in. Maybe that will help?

Even better, have a "timed quiet" option, like it's so common these days. You could have a "Quiet for... ": 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours for example.

I take the opposite approach in those situations, I don't activate the quiet mode even when I know I'll take a break in 20 minutes and in those 20 minutes WR bothers the hell out of me.

I would love to have a timed quiet (same with suspended mode actually).
