Apparently Ubuntu removed the systray from the system in 13.04, meaning that all apps that want to use the space previously called the systray now needs to use something called Application Indicators which is described in detail on this wikipage: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopExperienceTeam/ApplicationIndicators This is not a major issue in any way, but I suppose you might want to know about it.

Really sorry for posting this! After a restart it automatically start and puts itself among the appindicators. I'm just being plain stupid. :-)
