Would be great to have a Windows Gadget that could show the same contents the current Status Window shows. That way it could be kept in background (not "on top") but quickly viewed by using the Windows Win+G keyboard shortcut.

What's a Windows Gadget?

That was a feature available on MS Windows 7 and discontinued by Microsoft on MS Windows 8 - didn't know that 2 years ago, when I created this feature request. MS Gadgets are some framework for making desktop widgets, for example to show CPU usage meter or weather information on top of the desktop, behind all the applications (but using Winkey+G would show the gadgets on top) Obviously, this request is very platform-specific and wouldn't be helpful to Linux or older/newer versions of MS Windows. I'm also not sure how difficult or easy would be to implement. And as of now, does it makes sense at all since gadgets were discontinued in Windows 8.
