Description

64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. After WR runs normally for a while, the context menu no longer appears when I right-click the system-tray icon. I must kill the app and restart it to recover the menu.

I can confirm this bug on 32bit Windows 7.

I've tried running WR in Windows XP Compatibility Mode, too; doesn't seem to help.

Not really that I know how to reproduce, but here's some more research:

When the status window is shown, timers work and you can right-click on the window and go to settings. System tray icon works too for some time (minutes). After a while (or unspecified action?) or after hiding the status window, the system tray icon stops responding.

Interesting thing: while toggling the "show status window" option on and off, the tray icon was showing "quiet mode" icon even that normal operation was going on.

Hi, I haven't been able to reproduce this bug on Windows 7 PC yet. I will try the 'hide hide status window' trick as soon as I have access to a windows 7 machine again.

The "quiet mode" is intentional: Workrave's preferences are instant-apply; if you change the 'time between breaks', the new value is used immediately, In normal mode, this could result in a break window without skip/postpone buttons... For this reason, Workrave enters 'quiet' mode as long as the preferences windows is focused.

Yeah, too bad, I've had to stop using WR till this is fixed.

In case it matters, here's what I do when I install it:

1. Close the little timer window and open Preferences.

2. In the Timers group:

  a. Disable Micro Break and Daily Limit features.

  b. On the Rest Break tab, leave all defaults except:

_ Time between breaks: 30 min.

     _ Break duration: 5 min.

3. In the User Interface group:

  a. Sounds tab: No sounds

  b. Status Window tab: Clear "Show status window" checkbox

  c. Applet tab: Clear "Show applet" checkbox (I don't even know what this is, BTW)

I have switched to English (been previously using Czech, 'cestina') and so far I'm good. The bug is still there, if I play with settings too much, it'll start malfunctioning. But the micro-pauses and pauses come up OK, which is the goal.
