Description

Workrave remains suspended after hibernate/standby on Window 7. Although the changelog says this is fixed the bug still exists.

I am also seeing this behavior still. Workrave 1.9.4, Win7 64-bit. Let me know if you need more information.

for me, this exact problem started to happen after I had changes workrave preferences. But it was windows vista, not 7. i analyzed the preferences one day again, and found that by disabling "Start natural restbreak when screen is locked", it goes away. 1. i believe what happens is that when we close lid of laptop or hibernate, it locks the screen (as per windows vista settings). and workrave goes into natural restbreak. 2. when we resume from hibernate, workrave should be back in same mode as before. But probably it is going into suspended mode on hibernate.

But probably it is going into suspended mode on hibernate. you're right, disabling "Start natural restbreak when screen is locked" does the trick. it still seems worth being fixed, though, because it would be nice indeed to have both features.

I previously had Win7 32-bit & Workrave 1.9.4 and did NOT have this issue. I then reinstalled to Win7 x64 & Workrave 1.9.4 and DID have this issue. After disabling "Start natural restbreak when screen is locked" the issue disappeared. Hope this helps (because Workrave is an excellent program!)

(In reply to comment #3) Thanks for the work around of "disabling 'Start natural restbreak when screen is locked'" option. I don't have much to add, except to vote for this bug and note that I am seeing this on 32-bit Windows 7. I really liked the option 'Start natural restbreak when screen is locked', but with the current bug using it means WorkRave is always disabled on my laptop and it is too hard to remember to turn it back to normal mode. I am running Workrave 1.9.4 Win7 32-bit

Could you please check if this version fixes the problem: http://snapshots.workrave.org/20111123/workrave-win32-v1_9_904-1-g3e27dc0907-20111123-installer.exe If the problem is still there, could you please install the following debug version: http://snapshots.workrave.org/20111123/workrave-win32-v1_9_904-1-g3e27dc0907-20111123-debug-installer.exe After installation, please start Workrave, hibernate and resume your PC/laptop and then mail the workrave log files in C:\Temp (this directory must exist prior to starting Workrave) to ro**@kr**.org (or attach to this bug report) Thanks!

I'm still repro-ing the issue in the new build so I installed the debug build and sent the log to Rob. Thanks Rob for looking at this! Quinn

Thanks Erwin and Quinn for sending me the requested log files! Please check if the following snapshot fixes the problem: http://snapshots.workrave.org/20111128/workrave-win32-v1_9_904-3-g4d00867da5-20111128-installer.exe

Thank you Rob for taking on this bug. Good: workrave-win32-v1_9_904-3 now no longer enters "suspended" mode after standby, even with the option "Start natural restbreak when screen is locked" enabled. Bad: unfortunatly workrave seems to start that rest break when you resume the system and log on to the session. note that the timer counts down from the moment I log back on (i.e. it does not start countdown at system resume but at logon!) hope this helps narrowing your search!

Hi - I had the same issue - Vista, workrave 1.9.4. When I suspend laptop, Workrave would be suspended on resume. Just downloaded your comment 9 snapshot. Appears to fix the issue for me. Regarding the rest break timing - Shouldn't this begin at the moment the system enters 'suspend'?

Confirmed solution. I agree with the bad thing/side effect that is mentioned above. The good thing is that the natural rest break window appears to have a default postpone window that cannot be disabled in the preferences. So fortunately, after sleeping your laptop, quickly going elsewhere and opening the machine you //can// go back to work. Note that for regular restbreaks I have disabled the postpone button in the preferences.
